A structured public reference — nothing more, nothing less

The Maine Senior Care & End-of-Life Registry is an independent, publicly accessible reference resource. It provides organized listings of care providers across Maine — structured by care type and region — so families and care coordinators can identify options without navigating advertising platforms or being subjected to sales contact.

The Registry exists because Maine's rural geography and dispersed provider landscape make it genuinely difficult for families facing care transitions to find organized, pressure-free information. It is operated from Naples, Maine, by a single administrator.

This Registry is not a care coordination service, referral agency, clinical advisory, or crisis response service. For urgent medical emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency community resource assistance, dial 211 Maine.

What the Registry does — and does not do

The Registry does

  • List licensed and established providers by region and care type
  • Present provider contact information in a consistent neutral format
  • Provide situation guidance to help families identify the right care pathway
  • Organize information so families can move from uncertainty to contact
  • Maintain listings without advertising, rankings, or referral fees

The Registry does not

  • Coordinate, arrange, or dispatch care services
  • Make referrals or recommend one provider over another
  • Evaluate care quality, staffing, or licensing compliance
  • Guarantee provider availability or insurance acceptance
  • Provide medical, legal, or financial advice
  • Conduct safety assessments for individuals

How listings are compiled and maintained

Provider entries are compiled from publicly available licensure records, official provider websites, and direct provider submissions. Listings are reviewed periodically and updated when corrections are received.

Providers are presented in a consistent neutral format — alphabetical order within each category, no star ratings, no rankings, no prominence awarded based on payment. All providers within the same participation level receive identical visual treatment.

Inclusion in the Registry does not constitute endorsement, recommendation, or verification of care quality. Families are responsible for contacting providers directly to confirm current services, availability, staffing, licensing status, and financial requirements before making care decisions.

Provider circumstances change. Phone numbers, service areas, ownership, and availability may have changed since listings were last reviewed. Always confirm directly with any provider before acting on Registry information.

How to use this Registry effectively

The Registry is most useful as a starting point — a way to identify providers serving your region before making direct contact. It does not replace the conversation you need to have with providers, hospitals, and care coordinators.

Corrections and inclusion requests

Licensed care providers serving older adults in Maine may request Registry inclusion or corrections to existing listings. All requests are handled by email. See the For Providers page for details on participation levels and the inclusion process.
